We’re so pleased to see our new TechSPARK website. Having been in the pipeline for the past six months, the arrival of the new site refreshes TechSPARK’s community offering, as well as allowing us to support talent attraction to the region.
TechSPARK’s New Website
With a fresh look and feel, the new site affords users to navigate through the latest news, events and features we all love, as well as adding an extensive range of new company profiles and job listings via our intuitive new talent offering. Delivering a fully responsive experience, the new website gives users a far richer experience on any device.
Attracting talent to the region remains one of the biggest challenges for the cluster, and continues to be a huge barrier to growth – it’s an age-old problem that is felt by tech businesses big and small across the region and the country.
We have spent the last six months engineering a set of tools to address this issue. From company profiles that allow you to creatively communicate your culture, display employee benefits and advertise current opportunities, to a platform that will easily allow hiring managers to promote vacancies to our community of 25,000 technologists per month.
We’re not done either, as a not-for-profit we’re going to using the revenue from our subscription service to keep iterating and innovating the platform as well as expanding the team to deliver bespoke advice on attracting talent as needed.
Bristol Calling is our SEO and marketing campaign targeting tech job seekers outside of the region, last year at pilot stage we engaged over 11,000 users considering relocating to the region. As part of our increased focus on talent we are enhancing our efforts to increase reach.
Now, both TechSPARK.co and BristolCalling.com are linked, giving us the ability to seamlessly push content, features and events to both sites. Excitingly the jobs board is also connected, automatically sharing the latest opportunities on both sites, so our subscribers can now advertise both inside and outside of the region.
Hiring companies can now access a new set of tools to help them attract the best talent. Our company profiles house a mix of video content, editorial, events, job listings and employee benefits, aggregating assets in a single hub. The idea is to help employers develop their employee brands, whilst giving users a clear and robust snapshot of what it’s like to work there. Users also have the ability to register for job alerts based on the companies they like the look of.
The addition of employee benefits is a great new feature, visually an easy way to communicate perks, but more importantly it gives us the ability to benchmark businesses across the cluster, by tracking successful hires, views and interactions this data will enable us to inform and shape company offerings to help them remain competitive, and hire more quickly.
